A very beautiful and very special week: as you may have read in this and this post, in Milan, my hometown, the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games have begun. Having participated in two events took up quite a bit of my time, unfortunately mainly from studying and working on personal projects (which have been terrifyingly stuck at zero for quite some time now).

Quieter evenings at home instead allowed me to watch a few more movies than usual and even start a new series.

I’m not making plans for next week (which will be very busy work-wise), but obviously the elephant in the room here is starting to work more frequently on my side projects.

Tv/Tv series/Movies

Arcadian – Post-apocalyptic film with Nicholas Cage. Nothing to write home about, but it’s an easy watch that helps pass some carefree time.

Newtopia – I started this series (spoiler) in anticipation of my trip to Korea. So far I’ve watched the first two episodes, it seems quite good even though I admit it hasn’t completely hooked me yet.

The wrecking crew – Like Arcadian above, a film that’s neither terrible nor praiseworthy. At times entertaining with good pacing, it’s the usual action movie but well-made.

The Rip – I really enjoyed this one. A well-paced film with suspense and good acting. It ends with the usual shootout and chase scene, which is a shame.

Read(ing)

How to know a person (David Brooks) – I’ve been making progress with this book but not at the speed I would have liked. It’s very interesting but unfortunately this is a period when I’m really slow at reading essays. I need to try to finish it as soon as possible so I can get started right away on a couple of books I have in my backlog.

Study

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to study anything interesting this week either. However, for next week I have some work-related services on my list to dive deeper into, and I think I’ll definitely talk about them here.

Personal projects

This week I didn’t make progress on any personal projects, but I did manage to write two posts about my Olympic experience: Milano-Cortina 2026: my first Olympic Games! e Milano-Cortina 2026: open ceremony.

Around the Web

Tooltrace.ai – I discovered this service that allows you to create custom containers for the Gridfinity system. As soon as I have time, I’ll try it out.
