While I’ve been happy with the Logitech Vertical mouse for my fixed workstation for years now, I’ve always used the Logitech MX Anywhere 2S (no link as it is discontinued now) when on the go.
The latter is an excellent mouse, so good that even though it was Micro-USB and all my gadgets are now USB-C, I couldn’t find good reasons to upgrade to the 3S (which is USB-C instead). The excuse came in December when I lost it. I don’t know how, I don’t know where. Maybe I’ll find it at the office someday, maybe it’ll turn up at home, but it’s no longer with me.
So the choice to buy the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S was pretty much a given, but it didn’t completely convince me. For my tech pouch, for example, that mouse is a bit too thick – something thinner would have been perfect for me.
And so, searching on Amazon, I found it: the PINKCAT Wireless mouse.

Let’s be honest right away – it’s not a brand-name mouse, and the build quality isn’t even comparable to Logitech’s. But it charges via USB-C. It’s very thin. And it has an integrated dongle (also USB-C!) to work at 2.4 GHz as well as with Bluetooth. So not only does it have what I was looking for, but much more.
And then I paid only 17 Euros for it – such a trivial amount that if I ended up not liking it, I wouldn’t have any problem buying the Logitech.
I’ve been using it for a week now and I’m more than satisfied: it’s compact, precise (even though I obviously don’t use it for gaming, I use it for office work) and it works well on different surfaces.
As I mentioned before, it’s a bit light, but that’s not a big problem. The only real issue for me is the absence of side buttons, so it only has left click, right click and scroll wheel click. It also has two other buttons on top, one called “Windows Desktop Button” and the other “Bluetooth pairing” which can’t be reprogrammed and are therefore pretty useless on Mac (especially the pairing button – I wonder what’s the point of putting it on top rather than underneath, given how rarely you use it).
Compared to the Logitech, it also lacks the selector that allows you to pair it with multiple devices (up to 3), but this is also something I can do without.
In conclusion, for the cost and the features it offers, I’d say it’s thoroughly approved and it will definitely be with me in the coming months.
